*** There are no Tropical Storm-related watches or warnings in effect for any portion of the Florida Keys. ***

Tropical Storm Melissa is drifting west northwestward over the central Caribbean Sea. There remains significant uncertainty in the track and intensity forecast of Melissa, and the tropical cyclone may track anywhere in the general vicinity of southwestern Haiti, Jamaica, or southeastern Cuba throughout this weekend.

Direct weather impacts from Melissa are not expected in the Florida Keys through early next week at this time.

The combination of the tropical cyclone’s low pressure and a large area of high pressure along the eastern United States coast will combine to cause windy and hazardous marine conditions in and around the Florida Keys beginning later Thursday and likely continuing throughout this upcoming weekend and into early next week.
