7 Artists & Friends Gallery sits at 213 Simonton Street in Key West, one block off Duval and easy to fold into an afternoon of wandering Old Town. It began as a cooperative, seven of the island's own artists sharing a single space instead of scattering into seven separate storefronts, and that is still the shape of the place.

Because the gallery is built around a group rather than one house style, the range inside is wide. Original paintings in watercolor, oil and acrylic hang near mixed media, photography, glass and fabric work, with sculpture and hand made custom jewelry filling in around them. Styles swing from photo realism to abstract to the kind of Key West whimsy you only find down here.

Prints and giclées are sold alongside the originals, so a piece of the island can come home with you whether you are buying for a wall you have been saving or for space in a suitcase.
