Above & Below Fishing Adventures - Key West & Lower Keys Fishing Charters

Above & Below Fishing Adventures is a family owned charter running out of 701 Spanish Main Drive on Cudjoe Key, fishing Key West, Stock Island and the Lower Keys. Capt. Jose Rodriguez Jr. was born in the Keys and grew up fishing with his father, left on a college baseball scholarship in Tennessee as a left handed pitcher, and came home to commercial fishing, diving and spearfishing. He has eleven years running charters.

The boat is a 2025 32 foot SeaVee with twin Mercury 300s, a fishing tower, a live bait well, Simrad electronics, a dive ladder, a private head and Starlink aboard, carrying up to six guests. Trips run four, six and eight hours across reef, offshore, deep drop and swordfish, going after mahi, wahoo, cobia, kingfish, black and red grouper, and mangrove, mutton and yellowtail snapper. The deep drop trips use electric reels to work water far beyond the reef for snowy and yellowedge grouper, queen snapper, golden tile, barrelfish and tilefish.

Swordfish is what they are known for. On February 18, 2026, Rodriguez put a Pennsylvania family on a 480 pound, 86 inch swordfish that took five hours to land. The family kept twenty or thirty pounds and gave the rest away, and as Rodriguez told it afterward, the whole community was eating swordfish that day.

Rods, reels and tackle, live bait, lures, drinks and your Florida fishing license all come with the charter, and they clean and fillet the catch at the dock. Beyond fishing they run snorkeling, lobster diving, spearfishing, sandbar trips and sunset cruises. Call (239) 810-1578.
