Alligator Reef Light House
Located approximately four and a half miles east of Indian Key, Alligator Reef Sanctuary Preservation Area is a 0.32-square-mile protected marine zone within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The area is celebrated for its diverse coral reef ecosystem, featuring a spur-and-groove system, reef crest, and northeast rubble ridge, and is home to over 600 documented fish species. The reef's shallow depths, some as low as 8 feet, make it an ideal spot for beginner snorkelers and divers, with many local dive and snorkel boats offering guided tours to this serene location.
