Coral Keys Adventures

Coral Keys Adventures is a private boat charter operation based at Whale Harbor Marina, 83413 Overseas Highway, mile marker 83.4 in Islamorada. It is run by captain Rebekah Susa, a longtime Islamorada resident who opened the business with a grand opening on August 13. Trips run on a 24.5-foot Sea Fox 286 Commander and are booked by the group rather than by the seat, so you are out with your own party and a local captain.

You build the trip around how much time you want on the water, choosing a two, three, four, or six-hour charter, with the four-hour option the one most guests pick. The longer charters add snorkeling over the coral reef and the base of Alligator Lighthouse, stops at the sandbar, and visits to historic sites such as Indian Key and Lignumvitae Key, along with sunset trips. When the ocean is rough, the captain can move snorkeling to calmer bayside water so the day still works.

One planning note worth knowing before you book: the two-hour trip is a sightseeing ecotour and does not include swimming or snorkeling, so if getting in the water matters to you, choose the three-hour charter or longer. Charters run daily between 9:00 AM and 8:30 PM, with exact departure times set when you book.
