Florida Keys Boat Rentals, Jetski & Island Tours
The Keys Boat Rental works out of Robbie's Marina at 77522 Overseas Highway, mile marker 77.5 bayside in Islamorada. The rental fleet runs from a 15 foot Carolina Skiff up through 18 foot center consoles, a Mako LTS, a poling skiff for the flats, a 21 foot center console rigged for fishing, and 22 and 24 foot Hurricane deck boats for bigger groups. Rentals go by two hours, half day, full day or multiple days, and every boat comes with Coast Guard safety gear, GPS and an orientation before you leave the dock.
The distinctive thing here is the ferry to Lignumvitae Key. Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park is reachable only by boat or kayak, and Florida State Parks names this operation as its ferry service, running Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The park is open Thursday through Monday, 8 to 4, with a $2.50 visitor fee plus $2 per person for the tour. Ranger guided tours are paused at the moment, so take the self guided brochure and your time in the tropical hardwood hammock.
On the jet ski side there is a one hour adventure tour at $155, a 90 minute tour, and a two hour eco tour with snorkeling at $215. One thing to know before booking a boat: all renters must have prior boating experience, and valid ID is required. Beer and wine are fine aboard, liquor is not. Call (305) 664-5533.
