Indian Key Historic State Park
Indian Key Historic State Park is an 11-acre island off Islamorada that used to be a thriving 19th-century settlement built by wreckers, with old stores, dwellings, warehouses and wharves — now you can walk among ruins, foundations and overgrown tropical forest. It’s only reachable by boat or kayak, with rentals available nearby, and has trails that follow the old street grid plus snorkeling and swimming around its shallow reefs.
