Keys Marine Lab

Keys Marine Laboratory is a full-service marine field station located on Long Key in Layton, in the Middle Florida Keys. Operated by the Florida Institute of Oceanography, the facility supports college-level education, academic research, restoration work, vessel-based field operations, seawater systems, diving, snorkeling and specimen collection. Its location near Florida Bay, Everglades National Park, Florida’s Coral Reef, the Atlantic Ocean and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary makes it a research hub for marine and coastal science groups.
