Kingfisher Backcountry Charters
Kingfisher Backcountry Charters is a Lower Florida Keys guide service based at 29837 Journeys End Road on Big Pine Key, owned and operated by Captain Robert Horachek, a lifelong Florida Keys resident who has been fishing these waters for over 30 years and guiding professionally for more than eight years. The charter is named in honor of Captain Horachek's late uncle's charter boat, the Kingfisher, whose memory and inspiration shaped his guiding philosophy of never giving up and sharing his deep knowledge of the Lower Keys fishery with every client. Kingfisher Backcountry Charters operates an 18 HPX flats skiff and targets tarpon, bonefish, and permit as the primary species, with additional opportunities for snook, redfish, mangrove snapper, sea trout, and Spanish mackerel depending on season and conditions. Captain Horachek guides year-round while also serving as a local firefighter, bringing the same dedication and commitment to every trip for anglers of all experience levels and ages.
