MarineLab Environmental Education

Founded in 1970 by undersea pioneer Ian Koblick, Marine Resources Development Foundation (MRDF) has more than five decades of experience in underwater research, exploration, and education. MarineLab is MRDF’s private environmental education campus in Key Largo, Florida, dedicated to marine science education through immersive, instructor-led programs.

Since opening in 1985, MarineLab has served thousands of students and educators through school field trips, residential programs, summer camps, family days, teacher workshops, and virtual learning experiences. Programs are designed to complement classroom learning and focus on the Florida Keys ecosystem, including coral reefs, seagrass, and mangrove habitats, using real-world observations, data collection, and lab-based activities.
