MarineLab Undersea Park

MarineLab Undersea Park

MarineLab Undersea Park is a public-facing destination in Key Largo where visitors can explore marine science through snorkeling and educational experiences in a protected lagoon setting. The park offers engaging programs for families, students, and curious visitors of all ages, with opportunities to observe marine life up close while learning about the Florida Keys ecosystem, including coral reefs, seagrass, and mangrove habitats.

A central feature of the park is Jules’ Undersea Lab, the historic underwater habitat originally developed in the 1970s as a research and exploration site and later known as the world’s only underwater hotel. Today, Jules’ is operated by MarineLab and has been reimagined as an educational and historical experience rather than an overnight lodging facility.

Visitors to MarineLab Undersea Park can learn about the history of undersea habitation, view the habitat from above the lagoon, and participate in guided experiences that highlight the science, technology, and innovation behind living and working underwater. Together, MarineLab Undersea Park and Jules’ Undersea Lab offer a one-of-a-kind way to experience the Florida Keys through education, exploration, and marine history.
