No Slack Sportfishing

No Slack Sportfishing is a family-run Marathon fishing charter service founded in 2009 by Captain James "Bucko" Platt, a born-and-raised Florida Keys native who started his charter business at age 18 and has since grown it into a multi-vessel, multi-captain operation alongside his cousin, Captain Jared Platt. The charter specializes in light tackle, live bait sight fishing for sailfish and cobia — a uniquely exciting style of fishing that requires spotting fish near the surface before presenting a bait — as well as tarpon fishing in spring and summer, offshore reef and wreck fishing, and bay fishing throughout the year, with both captains holding multiple local tournament titles for sailfish and tarpon. No Slack Sportfishing operates a 32-foot SeaVee with a full tower for spotting fish, enclosed bathroom, and full-time mate, as well as a 25-foot SeaVee ideal for tarpon, reef, and bay trips for up to four anglers. The Platt family's multi-generational connection to the Florida Keys fishing community, combined with an active commercial lobstering and stone crab operation that keeps the captains on the water year-round, gives No Slack Sportfishing an unmatched depth of local knowledge and a hard-working, professional approach to every charter.
