Punta Morada
Punta Morada is a new coastal kitchen opening at Mile Marker 81 in Islamorada, Florida on June 11, 2026, drawing inspiration from the seafood traditions of the Mexican Pacific coast to deliver a menu built around freshness, citrus, smoke, and fire in a relaxed tropical setting steps from the waters of the Upper Florida Keys. The raw bar highlights pristine fresh catches including Everglades-harvested oysters with rotating Pacific coast preparations, shrimp aguachile verde, citrus-cured white fish ceviche, and thinly sliced salmon with bright citrus sauce, while the fire kitchen turns out tacos gobernador with fire-kissed shrimp and melted cheese, wood-fired shrimp flatbreads, charcoal-grilled surf and turf with lime butter and sea salt, and dramatic black ink squid paellas prepared in traditional pans for the table to share. Punta Morada is a wine-forward coastal house curating approachable, food-friendly bottles and glasses designed to complement the spice and acidity of the menu, with the open-air Jungle Bar providing a laid-back space for cold beers, wines, and chef-driven flatbreads surrounded by tropical greenery for easy coastal evenings. The restaurant also specializes in private event catering and celebrations, with reservations strongly recommended for the dining room, open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 10 PM.
