Reef Renewal USA

Reef Renewal USA is a nonprofit dedicated to restoring and protecting coral reef ecosystems throughout the Florida Keys reef tract using innovative coral nursery and outplanting techniques. While headquartered in Tampa, the organization operates offshore coral nurseries in Tavernier, Marathon, and Big Pine Key and actively restores reefs at Carysfort Reef, Horseshoe Reef, Sombrero Reef, Looe Key, Newfound Harbor, and Eastern Dry Rocks as part of the Mission: Iconic Reefs initiative. With most staff living in the Keys — including coral restoration pioneer Ken Nedimyer, who began this work locally in 2006 — Reef Renewal USA combines scientific expertise, community involvement, and hands-on action to strengthen reef resilience and biodiversity.
