Ben Harrison in Concert

Ben Harrison in Concert

Tuesday, January 5, 2027, at 7 p.m., with six additional performances through April. Key West singer-songwriter, author, playwright, and storyteller Ben Harrison returns to the intimate Back Stage Listening Room at the Key West Theater for a seven-show series filled with original music, island history, irreverent humor, and stories that are, as Harrison likes to say, mostly true.

A longtime part of Key West’s creative community, Harrison blends local history, music, theater, and humor into songs and stories inspired by the colorful characters and unusual tales of the island. He and his wife, sculptor Helen Harrison, were part of Key West’s vibrant arts scene in the 1970s and ’80s and later opened Harrison Gallery in 1986.

Over his career, Harrison has recorded 10 studio albums, written four books, and created four full-length musicals, including Key West! A Musical Tour About Town, Undying Love, El Isleño: The Untold Key West Story, and Clouds Over the Sunshine Inn. He is also a recipient of the Adeline Turner Award for Outstanding Performing Artist.

The 2027 performances are scheduled for January 5 and 19, February 3 and 16, March 11 and 25, and April 8. Doors open at 6 p.m., with each performance beginning at 7 p.m.

Performances take place in the Back Stage Listening Room at the Key West Theater, 512 Eaton Street in Key West. The intimate venue seats just 60 guests, creating an up-close setting for Harrison’s songs and storytelling.

Tickets are $35 and are available in advance or at the door, subject to availability.

Settle in for an evening of songs, stories, Key West history, and the distinctive humor of an entertainer who has spent decades chronicling the island’s wonderfully unconventional character.
