Cortadito: A Tribute to the Buena Vista Social Club

Monday, October 19, 2026, at 6 p.m. Experience the vibrant sounds of Cuba when Cortadito brings a special tribute to the legendary Buena Vista Social Club to Florida Keys Brewing Company in Islamorada.

The Miami-based ensemble specializes in Cuban son, one of the foundational styles of Cuban popular music, with a sound reminiscent of the famed Buena Vista Social Club. For this special performance, Cortadito will blend beloved Cuban standards associated with Buena Vista Social Club with original music from the band’s own catalog.

Led by José Elias on Cuban tres and vocals, the group features Julio César Rodriguez on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Santiago McCook on percussion, Alberto Pantaleon on bass, and Tony Perigo on trumpet. Cortadito has performed with legendary Buena Vista Social Club member Eliades Ochoa and appeared at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage.

The group’s first full-length album, The Guajiro Triangle, was released in 2025 and features nine original compositions celebrating Cuban musical traditions while exploring the cultural connections between Santiago de Cuba, Havana, and Miami.

Presented by Community Arts and Culture, the nonprofit organization behind Afro Roots Fest Islamorada, the concert is free and open to all ages.

The performance takes place in the outdoor beer garden at Florida Keys Brewing Company, 81611 Old Highway, in Islamorada’s Morada Way Arts & Cultural District.

Come sway to the rhythms, enjoy an evening in the beer garden, and celebrate the enduring sounds of Cuban music with Cortadito in Islamorada.
