Cortadito: A Tribute to the Buena Vista Social Club

Monday, October 19, 2026, at 6 p.m. Experience the rhythms of traditional Cuban music when Cortadito brings its tribute to the legendary Buena Vista Social Club to the Beer Garden at Florida Keys Brewing Company in Islamorada.

The Miami-based ensemble specializes in Cuban Son, one of Cuba’s foundational popular music traditions. Cortadito’s acoustic sound has often been compared to the famed Buena Vista Social Club, and the performance blends beloved Cuban standards with original music from the band’s own repertoire.

Led by Jose Elias on Cuban tres and vocals, Cortadito features Julio Cesar Rodriguez on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Santiago McCook on percussion, Alberto Pantaleon on baby bass, and Tony Perigo on trumpet. The group has performed with legendary Buena Vista Social Club member Eliades Ochoa and has appeared at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage.

The band’s first full-length album, The Guajiro Triangle, features original compositions rooted in the traditions of Cuban Son while exploring the musical connection between Santiago de Cuba, Havana, and Miami.

Presented by Community Arts and Culture, the concert takes place in the outdoor Beer Garden at Florida Keys Brewing Company, 81611 Old Highway, in Islamorada’s Morada Way Arts & Cultural District.
