Distinguished Speaker Series: The Stained Glass Windows of St. Paul’s, History, Art & Restoration

Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Key West Art & Historical Society brings stained glass restoration artist Kathy Jordan to The Studios of Key West for a Distinguished Speaker Series lecture on the windows of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, presented in partnership with the church.

Jordan calls St. Paul’s “a museum of stained glass in the United States,” and the collection earns it. The windows were created between the 1920s and the 2000s by at least five different studios, and each one carries more than a biblical scene. There is the artist and studio who made it, and the person commemorated in its dedication. Taken together they are a record of the church’s history and of Key West itself, generation by generation.

Jordan is a nationally recognized restoration artist, conservation painter, educator and president of the American Glass Guild, with more than three decades in the field. She has restored work by Tiffany, LaFarge, Clayton and Bell, Mayer of Munich and Lalique, on historic projects across the country. The talk covers the history of the windows, the craft of preserving them and what conservation actually demands.

“This is such a visually engaging topic,” says Cori Convertito, curator and historian for the Society, “and having an expert of Kathy Jordan’s caliber guide us through the artistry and restoration of these extraordinary works makes it an especially exciting program.”

Tickets are $15 per person, and all proceeds go to St. Paul’s stained glass restoration fund. Reserve at kwahs.org/whats-on.
