End of Prohibition Celebration

End of Prohibition Celebration

Thursday, December 3 through Saturday, December 5, 2026. Key West spends three days marking the one thing the Constitution has only ever done once: repeal itself. The 21st Amendment ended Prohibition in December 1933, and the island has never needed much encouragement to throw a party about it.

Sloppy Joe’s at 201 Duval Street is the center of it, with live entertainment running all day from 10 a.m. across all three days. Thursday opens with the Red & Gold Speakeasy Soiree, where Prohibition Pearls are sold to benefit the Sloppy Joe’s Foundation and a Prohibition Punch is poured featuring Sloppy Joe’s Blonde Reserve Rum, a bottle sold nowhere else.

Friday afternoon moves uptown for A Rum Cocktail Adventure at the Key West Cooking Show, 291 Front Street, Suite 207, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. It is hands on and reservations are required through keywestcookingshow.com.

Saturday is the Repeal Party. The dress theme is black and silver, Landon Bradbary hosts, and there are contests, giveaways and an Anheuser-Busch antique truck on hand. The Repeal festivities proper land during the 5 o’clock hour, which is the correct time to legally raise a glass.

Running through all three days, the Tropic Cinema at 416 Eaton Street screens Chicago, at 6:00 p.m. Thursday and at 5:00 and 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
