First Thursday at The Studios of Key West
Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, with the shows on view through October 29. The Studios of Key West throws open its doors for First Thursday, its monthly open house, and this month four new exhibitions land at once at 533 Eaton Street.
In the Sanger Gallery, Andrew Arocho: The Passage is a full-scale installation of layered, gestural paintings alongside reclaimed maritime materials, weathered wood, sailcloth and metal sourced from boats and ships. In the XOJ Gallery, Susanna Burque: Residents of The Florida Keys evokes the dramatic swarms of white butterflies that periodically emerge across the Keys, translating that fleeting natural phenomenon into the gallery space.
Jordan Mannix-Lachner: Throughlines fills the Zabar Lobby Gallery with bold, graphic scenes where color, architecture and nostalgia meet, asking what of Key West has been preserved, transformed or forgotten. And in the Zabar Project Gallery, the Books & Books summer art contest marks its tenth year with bookmark designs by local artists, up through October 28.
Admission to the exhibits and campus is always free. Galleries are open Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
