Full Moon Kayak Excursion

Sunday, November 22, 2026, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The Florida Keys Wildlife Society runs a guided evening paddle from the Old Wooden Bridge Marina on Big Pine Key. The route crosses to No Name Key and continues north through the shallow waters around the National Key Deer Refuge, timed so paddlers are on the water as the light goes and the moon comes up.

A $30 donation per kayak spot covers the kayak, paddling gear and experienced guides. Single and tandem kayaks are both available. Reservations are required and are arranged directly with Captain Bill Keogh of Big Pine Kayak Adventures, who has guided in the Lower Keys backcountry for decades.

The excursion is one of seven running monthly through April 2027. Refunds are given only if the Wildlife Society cancels.
