Guided Walk Through a Hardwood Hammock at Green Turtle Hammock

Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Wander beneath a canopy of native trees and discover one of Islamorada's hidden natural treasures on a guided walk through the hardwood hammock at Green Turtle Hammock Nature Preserve, 81224 Overseas Highway.

Emily, Program Manager of Florida Bay Forever, leads the walk, and the guiding idea is simple: we don't visit nature, we are a part of it. Along the way you'll learn about the gifts Mother Earth grows in the hardwood hammock and Florida Bay.

Bring water, binoculars, and curiosity and a sense of adventure.
