The tournament honors legendary Keys angler Herman Lucerne, affectionately known as “Mr. Everglades” for his decades of experience fishing and exploring the region. His passion for these waters lives on through an event steeped in Florida Keys fishing tradition.
The ultimate goal is the coveted Everglades Slam. Anglers attempt to catch as many of the tournament’s seven eligible species as possible, with the top individual earning the title of Overall Grand Champion.
