Mote’s Buoy Paint Night at Florida Keys Brewing Company

Wednesday, November 11, 2026, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Mote Marine Laboratory’s Buoy Paint Night comes to Florida Keys Brewing Company in Islamorada. Each participant paints two buoys. One is theirs to keep, and the other is deployed on Mote’s coral trees in the field nurseries, turning the evening’s artwork into a working part of the laboratory’s coral restoration operation.

Registration is $30 per person and includes both buoys, all craft supplies, and appetizers. No prior painting experience is required. Space is limited and seats must be reserved in advance.

Florida Keys Brewing Company is Islamorada’s craft brewery and has worked with Mote on conservation programming before, including supplying beer for the laboratory’s annual Reef Revival Fest. Mote’s Islamorada coral nursery sits a few miles down the highway at Bud N’ Mary’s Marina and is open for free guided tours on Tuesday afternoons.

A companion Buoy Paint Night takes place Monday, November 9 at Alonzo’s in Key West.
