Feel the need for speed at the Race World Offshore Key West World Championship, when the turquoise waters surrounding Key West become the setting for one of offshore powerboat racing’s most exciting events.
Serving as a thrilling season finale for offshore racing, the championship brings elite teams and high-performance boats to the island for an adrenaline-fueled showcase of speed, technology, teamwork, and endurance.
Racers battle for position on Key West’s legendary 4-plus-mile-per-lap course, which winds through Key West Harbor and challenges competitors with a constantly changing combination of rough and calm water. Its spectator-friendly layout also puts fans remarkably close to the action as powerful boats thunder across the water at breathtaking speeds.
There are plenty of places around the island to catch the excitement. Popular viewing areas include Race Village at Truman Waterfront Park, Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park, Mallory Square, Sunset Pier, Simonton Street Beach, and harborfront hotels with water views. Local boat operators also may offer special spectator cruises for an on-the-water perspective.
At Race Village, located near the Outer Mole at Truman Waterfront, fans can get close to the racing action while enjoying live entertainment, refreshments, and the high-energy atmosphere surrounding championship week. General admission tickets are available on-site, while VIP options offer premium viewing and additional hospitality amenities.
Fans who can’t make it trackside can follow the action through live online broadcasts and local radio coverage.
Come for the speed, stay for the island atmosphere, and experience the roar of world-class offshore powerboat racing in Key West!
