Science Saturdays: Marine Ecology

Science Saturdays: Marine Ecology

Join REEF for a free community science lesson and activity in the Science Discovery Classroom. This week explores Florida Keys ecosystems by examining local animals and plants and learning how they are all interconnected, and discovering the unique benefits of each ecosystem.

It is free, it is an hour, and all ages are welcome, which makes it an easy Saturday morning stop whether you have curious kids in tow or just want to understand what you are looking at the next time you get in the water.

Science Saturdays run weekly at 11:00 a.m., with the topic changing each week, so there is always a reason to come back.

The class is held at the REEF Ocean Exploration Center at 98380 Overseas Highway, in the median at mile marker 98.3 off Bahama Road. The center itself is free to visit during regular hours, open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with self-guided exploration and stories of science, history and the arts. REEF has spent more than 30 years helping people build meaningful connections with the oceans.
