Southpoint Divers Holiday Morning Reef Dives

Southpoint Divers Holiday Morning Reef Dives

Wednesday, December 23, 2026, with four more departures on December 26, December 29, January 1 and January 4. Check-in is 8:00 a.m., the boat leaves at 8:30, and you are back on land around noon.

Southpoint Divers adds morning reef departures for the holidays, which is not how their schedule usually runs. Mornings normally belong to the Vandenberg wreck and the reef trip goes out in the afternoon. These five dates flip that, and the appeal is in what it leaves you: a two-tank reef dive in about 25 feet of water, done by lunch, with the whole afternoon still ahead for the pool, the beach, Duval or sunset.

It is also a quieter reef. Morning departures go out while the island is still waking up.
The trip suits certified divers who want something relaxed rather than deep. Shallow water makes it comfortable for families diving together, for certified kids aged 10 and up, and for newer Open Water divers still building hours. Open Water certification or equivalent is required, and this is not a Discover Scuba trip or a student dive.

Pricing is $174 per diver with full rental gear, or $134 with tanks and weights only. An in-water guide is $50 more per person.

Southpoint has been running Key West dives since 1991 out of 606 Front Street, operating a 46-foot Newton, The Phoenix. They are a PADI 5-Star Center and a Blue Star operator, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary’s recognition for dive businesses that teach responsible reef practice. The boat departs from the Hyatt Marina.

The captain determines weather and reef location. If Southpoint cancels for weather, guests get a full refund.
