Sugarloaf Showdown

Sugarloaf Showdown

November 12–14, 2026 | Lower Florida Keys

Cast a line for competition, camaraderie, and a great cause at the 13th Annual LKGA Sugarloaf Showdown, a three-day fishing tournament benefiting the Florida Keys Guides Trust Foundation.

Hosted by the Lower Keys Guides Association (LKGA), the catch-and-release tournament challenges both fly and spin anglers to pursue three of the Florida Keys’ signature species — bonefish, permit, and barracuda — while competing for top honors on the beautiful waters of the Lower Keys.

Young anglers can get in on the action, too. A dedicated youth division celebrates the next generation of fishing enthusiasts, making the Sugarloaf Showdown a favorite for fishing families while encouraging responsible angling and future stewardship of the Florida Keys fishery.

Off the water, participants can enjoy island-style camaraderie, tournament festivities, and a silent auction, all while supporting the Florida Keys Guides Trust Foundation and its work within the local community.

Registration opens August 1 exclusively for LKGA members. If space remains, registration opens to the general public on August 15. Anglers are encouraged to act quickly — last year’s tournament reached capacity in less than 48 hours and drew a substantial waitlist.

Gather your crew, get your gear ready, and join the Sugarloaf Showdown for three days of fishing, fun, and giving back in the Florida Keys!
