Tennessee Williams Plein Air Contest 2026
The Tennessee Williams Plein Air Painting Contest will take place Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Key West, Florida, as part of the Tennessee Williams Key West Festival. Hosted by the Key West Art & Historical Society and the Tennessee Williams Museum, this outdoor painting competition invites artists to capture the beauty, architecture, and tropical atmosphere of Key West while creating original works inspired by the spirit and literary legacy of Tennessee Williams. Artists may choose their own location around the island to paint en plein air, reflecting the scenery and character that influenced the Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright during his many years living in Key West. The contest celebrates creativity and the island’s vibrant arts culture while honoring Williams’ lasting connection to the community.
Event funding provided by the Monroe County Tourism Development Council.
