Mzoe Arts is a Key West ceramic art brand founded and led by Thabane Mpofu, a South African artist born in Durban and raised in Johannesburg who discovered his love of ceramics at just five years old, guided by his late father — a talented potter whose artistry and memory continue to inspire every piece Mpofu creates. Through Mzoe Arts, Mpofu creates one-of-a-kind hand-crafted ceramic works that carry deep personal and cultural meaning, connecting his South African heritage to the vibrant artisan community of Key West where he now makes his home. Beyond his own artistic practice, Mpofu uses Mzoe Arts as a platform to uplift others — employing and mentoring fellow artisans and bringing a community-centered philosophy to his work that echoes the collaborative spirit of Key West's local arts scene. Mzoe Arts can be found at the Key West Artisan Market at Higgs Beach, the Key West Farmers Market at Truman Waterfront, and at select Key West festivals and pop-up events throughout the year.
