Photography Masterclass with Frank Stewart

Friday, October 23, 2026, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Photographers can receive in-depth feedback on their work during a Portfolio Review with acclaimed photographer Frank Stewart at The Studios of Key West.

Designed for intermediate to advanced photographers, this masterclass offers constructive critique to help participants evaluate their portfolios, strengthen their visual voice, and consider new directions for their creative practice. Participants should bring 10 to 20 photographs for review, either as prints or digitally. Those presenting a digital portfolio should bring their own laptop or tablet.

Stewart’s career spans more than five decades of documenting Black life and culture, jazz, and the arts. He has served as a photographer for Jazz at Lincoln Center since its founding in 1991 and was its senior staff photographer for decades. His work has been exhibited extensively, including the major career retrospective Frank Stewart’s Nexus: An American Photographer’s Journey, 1960s to the Present, which opened at The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., in 2023.

The workshop takes place in the Heinen Design Lab at The Studios of Key West, 533 Eaton Street. Tuition is $65, and advance registration is required.
