The Underwater Gardener

The Underwater Gardener is a saltwater aquarium shop and coral farm at 2816 N Roosevelt Boulevard, Suite 1, in the Overseas Market plaza in Key West. It is free to walk in and fully indoors with air conditioning, which makes it an easy stop on a rainy afternoon or a hot day, and a walk-through takes about twenty minutes.

What sets it apart from a standard aquarium store is that it grows living coral on site under Florida Aquaculture Certificate AQ0254072, so visitors see reef coral actually being farmed rather than only displayed. Alongside the coral, the shop stocks reef fish, invertebrates, and aquarium supplies, and families are welcome to come through with no ticket and no obligation to buy anything.
