Guided Bird Walk at Green Turtle Hammock
Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Start your morning discovering the birdlife of the Upper Keys during a guided bird walk at Green Turtle Hammock Nature Preserve in Islamorada.
Presented by Florida Bay Forever in partnership with the Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center, the walk invites participants to explore the preserve while learning about the native and migratory birds that rely on Florida Keys habitats.
The approximately one-hour walk follows a flat, 0.4-mile loop trail, making it an approachable nature experience for families, residents, and visitors of all ages. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and water, along with plenty of curiosity for the morning’s wildlife sightings.
The guided walk is free to attend, with donations welcomed to support local conservation efforts.
The event takes place at Green Turtle Hammock Nature Preserve, 81224 Overseas Highway in Islamorada. Visitors can also stay for Crafts & Conservation, taking place at the preserve from noon to 4 p.m. the same day.
Bring your binoculars and spend a peaceful morning beneath the hammock canopy discovering the birds of the Florida Keys.
