Islamorada Witches Paddle & Halloween Costume Swap
Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Witches, warlocks and families, let's paddle. Wear your witchiest attire and join the Islamorada Witches Paddle at Green Turtle Hammock Nature Preserve, 81224 Overseas Highway.
Launch your kayak or paddleboard from the preserve, then hang out in Little Basin with your new water-borne coven or take a three-quarter mile paddle adventure through the mangroves. Prizes for best costumes are awarded between 12:00 and 12:30.
Bringing your own board or kayak is recommended. If you don't have one, Paddle the Florida Keys will be on site at Green Turtle Hammock with a limited number of boards available, first come first served.
Then shop Surfrider's Costume Swap Eco-Shop. Bring a costume to donate and shop the swap for a free, new-to-you Halloween look for this year's spooky season. Kid, teen and adult costumes are all welcome.
The event is open to the public. Register at the link, and follow park rules and U.S. Coast Guard regulations for nonmotorized vessels. Green Turtle Hammock is an 8.7-acre rockland tropical hammock preserve on the bayside just north of mile marker 81, with parking, a short hammock trail and a canoe launch at the boat basin.
