20th Annual Tom Thumb Marathon Bull and Cow Dolphin Tournament

The Marathon Offshore Bull & Cow Dolphin Tournament is one of the Florida Keys’ premier offshore fishing competitions, bringing anglers together for a weekend of sportfishing, camaraderie, and big catches in the waters surrounding Marathon. Teams of up to six anglers compete over two days to land the heaviest combined weight of bull and cow dolphin (mahi-mahi), with additional prizes awarded for species such as wahoo, blackfin tuna, and tripletail. The event begins with a captain’s meeting and registration at Two Conchs Bait & Tackle, followed by two full days of fishing, daily weigh-ins, and a celebratory awards banquet. With dozens of boats participating and more than $40,000 in cash and prizes at stake, the tournament highlights the Florida Keys’ reputation as a world-class offshore fishing destination.

Event funding provided by the Monroe County Tourism Development Council.
