Trashy Tuesday Sunset Cleanup at Harry Harris Park
Lend a hand while enjoying a beautiful Upper Keys sunset at Trashy Tuesday, a monthly shoreline cleanup at Harry Harris Park in Tavernier.
Hosted by Sereia Films, a seafood-education nonprofit dedicated to ocean health, this relaxed, family-friendly event brings locals and visitors together to help protect the Florida Keys coastline. Volunteers gather around sunset before heading to the mangroves just left of the boat launch to collect trash and debris before it can enter surrounding waterways and threaten marine life.
No cleanup experience is necessary — just come ready to pitch in. Gloves, garbage bags, buckets, water refills, and insect repellent are provided, making it easy for volunteers of all ages to participate. Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes and bring water in a reusable bottle.
With golden-hour views over the water as the backdrop, Trashy Tuesday turns a simple act of service into a memorable way to experience the natural beauty of the Upper Keys. It’s also a great opportunity for families, friends, and coworkers to connect with the community while making a positive difference for the environment.
Because the cleanup is scheduled around sunset, start times vary throughout the year, so participants should confirm the date and time before heading to the park.
Come clean up the coast, watch the sky light up, and spend an evening giving back to the waters that make the Florida Keys so special.
