America 250 Florida Keys: 9/11 Never Forget Exhibit, Golden Knights & Drone Show
Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Founders Park in Islamorada. Monroe County marks America’s 250th anniversary with an evening built around three things that do not often share a field.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation brings its 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit, an 83-foot tractor-trailer that opens into an 1,100 square foot museum. Inside are artifacts recovered from Ground Zero, including World Trade Center steel, alongside multimedia presentations and tributes. Retired New York City firefighters and first responders who served at Ground Zero lead the tours themselves. The exhibit marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
The U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team performs an 18-person aerial demonstration, and a patriotic drone show closes the night.
The mobile exhibit is open to the public separately on Tuesday, November 17 and Wednesday, November 18, both days from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m., so you can walk through it before the evening program begins. Monroe County School District middle schools will also tour it.
The celebrations continue down the Keys. Big Pine Key Community Park hosts the same program on Friday, November 20 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the exhibit open Friday 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by a Tunnel to Towers Run on Saturday, November 21.
The events are sponsored by the Monroe County Tourist Development Council with support from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Islamorada.
