Young Writers Studio – Key West Literary Seminar

Applications are now open for the Key West Literary Seminar’s Young Writers Studio, a five-day summer writing intensive for local high school students taking place June 22–26 in Key West. This immersive program invites students of all experience levels to explore creative writing through journaling, observation, and hands-on exercises inspired by the island’s rich literary history. Participants will engage in daily workshops led by visiting writers, receive constructive feedback, and visit iconic locations connected to authors such as Ernest Hemingway and Elizabeth Bishop. The program also includes a special excursion to Dry Tortugas National Park, offering a unique opportunity for site-specific writing and reflection. Open to Monroe County students entering grades 10–12, the program welcomes diverse educational backgrounds, with scholarships available to ensure accessibility.
