A Florida Keys getaway does not have to be reserved for a once-in-a-lifetime splurge. Lodging prices change frequently based on dates, occupancy, holidays and special events. The examples below are properties that have recently offered select-date rates below approximately $150 or $200 for two adults. Taxes, parking, resort fees and additional guests may affect the final total.

Key Largo

Stay for Less

Key Largo offers several smaller waterfront properties and familiar hotel brands that can fall within a family-friendly budget on select dates. Recent searches have shown The Pelican Key Largo Cottages and Rock Reef Resort close to or below $150, while Hampton Inn Key Largo Manatee Bay, Sunset Cove Beach Resort, Bayside Inn Key Largo, Ocean Pointe Suites and Marina Del Mar Resort and Marina have appeared below $200. Families should compare weekday rates and look for properties offering complimentary parking, breakfast, kitchenettes or recreational equipment that can reduce spending elsewhere.

Spend the day at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, where admission begins at $8 per multi-occupant vehicle, plus a small per-person county surcharge. Popular activities including snorkeling, diving and kayaking are available for additional fees. Islamorada

Stay for Less

Classic roadside motels remain some of Islamorada’s best options for travelers watching their budgets. Blue Fin Inn and Key Lantern Motel have rates around $100 per night and they have advertised weekday specials for $75 - $85 per night. Other properties that have recently appeared below $200 on select dates include Breezy Palms Resort, Hadley Resort and Marina, Fisher Inn Resort & Marina & The Sunset Inn. Families may also find extra value in rooms with kitchenettes or included breakfast.

Explore the fossilized coral quarry and self-guided trails at Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park for $2.50 per person or enjoy a free nature experience at The Green Turtle Hammock Nature Preserve. Marathon

Properties that have recently shown select-date totals below $150 include Tropical Cottages, Siesta Motel, Kingsail Resort and Captain Pips Marina & Hideaway. Families with a budget closer to $200 can also check Rainbow Bend Resort, Hampton Inn Marathon, Bonefish Bay Motel and Fairfield Inn & Suites Marathon Florida Keys.

Walk, bike or rollerblade along the restored Old Seven Mile Bridge, which is free to traverse and delivers sweeping water views along its 2.2-mile span. At Curry Hammock State Park, vehicle admission ranges from $4.50 for one person to $8 for a vehicle carrying six people. Families can also enjoy Sombrero Beach without an admission charge, although parking costs $5 for each of the first two hours and $2 for every additional hour.

Eat for Less

At Island Fish Company, every children’s meal is $10 and arrives with a souvenir frisbee. Choices include burgers, grilled cheese, pasta, fish fingers, chicken fingers, hot dogs and popcorn shrimp. Marathon Grill & Ale House offers spaghetti and meatballs, chicken tenders, burgers and fish fingers for $9 each. El Siboney Restaurant offers a wide variety of sandwiches for under $15.

Big Pine & the Lower Keys

Stay for Less

Affordable hotel inventory is more limited in the Lower Keys, but families still have options with flexible travel dates. Parmer’s Resort on Little Torch Key has recently offered select-date totals below $200. For a nature-focused alternative, the cabins at Bahia Honda State Park are priced at $120 per night from May through October and $160 from November through April, before taxes, reservation charges and utility fees. Cabins are limited and should be reserved well in advance. Sugarloaf KOA offers a variety of RV, camper and tent sites at affordable rates with waterfront views and access.

Visit the National Key Deer Refuge to explore the nature center, Blue Hole observation platform and public walking trails while learning about the wildlife and habitats of the Lower Keys. Visitors should observe Key deer from a respectful distance and never feed them. Key West

Finding a Key West room below $200 requires the most flexibility, particularly during holidays, festivals and winter. Properties worth checking first include Ibis Bay Beach Resort, Southwinds Motel, Best Western Hibiscus Motel and Hampton Inn Key West, all of which have recently displayed select-date rates below $200. Ibis Bay is also offering 25 percent off qualifying three-night stays during the 2026 Keys Season (August through October), excluding certain holidays and special events.

The Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center offers free admission and parking, along with interactive exhibits introducing families to the region’s land and underwater ecosystems. The Key West Garden Club at West Martello Tower is also free, with donations appreciated. Finish the day at the nightly Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square, where admission is free and families can enjoy performers, artists and waterfront views; budgeting a few dollars for performer tips is encouraged.

Cuban Coffee Queen is a convenient choice for an inexpensive breakfast or casual lunch, with breakfast sandwiches beginning below $10, grilled cheese for $7.95 and many Cuban sandwiches and rice-and-bean meals priced between roughly $11 and $14. Salty Frog’s Bar & Grill offers children’s cheeseburger sliders, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and grilled cheese for $7 with fries. At Grand Café, children’s lunch options such as mac and cheese, pasta, chicken tenders, fish fingers and burgers range from $6.99 to $8.99.

Stretch the Family Budget

The biggest savings often come from combining several small choices. Travel Sunday through Thursday, compare the total price rather than only the advertised nightly rate, and look for lodging with free parking, breakfast or a kitchenette. Pack reusable water bottles and picnic snacks, alternate paid attractions with parks and free experiences, and review restaurant children’s menus before deciding where to eat.
